Late in the period the Penguins made it 3-1 when Pesonen chipped a pass down low for forward Nick Johnson who tipped it past Tordjman with just 39.4 seconds left in the frame.
The Rampage struggled to get an attack mounted in the third period until late. With less than two minutes to go in regulation San Antonio pulled the goalie and Porter scored on a rebound shot from the left circle to get San Antonio within one goal with 1:46 left. Then with less than a minute to go, Kolarik a Pennsylvania native, would roof a wrister high glove side on Penguins goalie John Curry with 37.4 seconds left to tie the game at 3-3.
