Fans Invited to Celebrate Air Canada Centre's 10th Anniversary

Air Canada Centre is recognizing a milestone anniversary this month. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Canada's premier sports and entertainment venue, sports fans and concert enthusiasts are invited to Air Canada Centre's 10th Anniversary Public Skate on Sunday, February 8.

Fans will have the opportunity to skate on the same ice as the Toronto Maple Leafs. They can also enjoy other activities in Air Canada Centre's Galleria such as meeting team mascots, interactive activities in the BMO FanZone and Marlies Tent, learning more about the Leafs Fund and Raptors Foundation for Kids and experiencing the Leafs Nation Mobile Fan Zone.

Air Canada Centre's 10th Anniversary Public Skate is free for all participants. Skate fans are asked to line up at Air Canada Centre for wrist bands that will only be distributed the day of the skate. Six sessions of 45-minute skates will take place, the first one beginning at 11 a.m. and the last one starting at

4 p.m. A maximum of 250 skaters will be allowed on the ice at any given time. Participants must bring their own skates and CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory for children 12 years of age and under.

Skaters are encouraged to bring a camera. There will be opportunities to have your photo taken with Leafs mascot Carlton the Bear, Marlies mascot Duke the Dog, the Raptors Irish Spring Dance Pak, the Marlies Dancers and many more.

Fans looking to outfit themselves in Leafs, Raptors, Marlies or Toronto FC gear can head to CentreSports, the official store of the Leafs, Raptors, Marlies and Toronto FC, where they can receive 10% off all purchases made that day.

Air Canada Centre is Canada's premier sports and entertainment venue and is home to the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club, Toronto Raptors Basketball Club and the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Team. Air Canada Centre first opened its doors February 19, 1999 and has been recognized with more than 25 industry awards. Since that time it has hosted more than 25 million fans at 2,000 events.
