Rainiers Struggle At Sacramento, 6-1

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Tacoma Rainiers were the victims of a strong start delivered by Sacramento's Travis Banwart in a 6-1 loss to the River Cats at Raley Field on Saturday night.

Banwart limited the Rainiers to one run on five hits with seven strikeouts and three walks on the way to earning a win for the River Cats.

Tacoma's lone run came in the top of the fifth inning when infielder Robert Andino delivered a solo home run with two outs in the top of the frame. The home run was Andino's first with Tacoma this season and also his first recorded at the Triple-A level since August 19, 2010 with the Norfolk Tides.

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles to extend his team-leading hitting streak to 16 games. Ackley is batting .417 (30x72) with seven extra-base hits and 11 RBI over his first 17 games since making his 2013 Rainiers debut on May 28.

Rainiers starter Hector Noesi (1-1) was dealt the loss after surrendering four runs on six hits over 4.1 innings. The right-hander walked two and struck out six in his third start with Tacoma this season.

The Rainiers (42-38) play the third game of the club's four-game series at Sacramento (39-30) tomorrow, June 16 at 1:35 p.m. Right-hander Brian Sweeney (7-1, 3.96) is slated to take the mound for the Tacoma against River Cats right-hander Sonny Gray (6-4, 2.48).
