Zephyrs Slam Sounds in 6-3 Come from Behind Win

NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Donovan Solano hammered a seventh inning grand-slam to deliver the New Orleans Zephyrs a 6-3 come from behind victory in front of 10,011 at Greer Stadium. The win is the Zephyrs third consecutive and improves their record to 35-35.

The Sounds Sean Halton hit a pair of home runs to give Nashville the early lead. Halton solo home run in the second put Nashville up 1-0. The Z's answered in the fourth with a Kevin Kouzmanoff home run to tie the game. Halton drilled a two run in the fourth and Nashville grabbed a 3-1 lead.

The Zephyrs sent eight batters to the plate in the seventh and scored four runs to grab the lead. Jake Smolinski led the inning off with a single. Gorkys Hernandez pinch hit single and then Kevin Mattison loaded the bases reaching on catcher's interference. Solano cleared the bases with his first home run of the season.

The Z's added a run in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 6-3. The Z's starter Jared Rogers never pitched with the lead but earned the win. Rogers worked six innings allowed three runs on six hits to improve to 2-1.

Mike Fiers suffered the defeat pitching six and two thirds innings allowing five runs, four earned. He left the game in the seventh after taking a line drive off his forearm. Fiers falls to 1-2 on the season.

Chris Hatcher pitched the ninth for New Orleans and earned his league leading 22nd save of the season.
