June 21, 2023 - International League (IL)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders took down the Buffalo Bisons by a score of 4-1 to secure their second straight victory. Andres Chaparro homered for the third time in two games in the win.
In the bottom of the first, it was Déjà vu as Andrés Chaparro crushed a solo shot that bounced off the video board.
Wilmer Difo led off with a double down the third base line in the third and Oswaldo Cabrera drew a walk. A fielder's choice off the bat of Chaparro and an errant throw from the Bisons allowed Difo to advance and eventually come around. The RailRiders held a 2-0 advantage.
Jordan Luplow broke up the hitless contest for the Bisons to cut the lead in half.
In the bottom of the seventh, Rodolfo Durán laced a leadoff double and was brought home on an RBI single from Jamie Westbrook to make it a 3-1 SWB advantage.
Jamie Westbrook capped a 3-4 day bringing in Carlos Narvaez after his walk. The RailRiders 4-1 lead stood at the end of the contest.
Colten Brewer opened for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre retiring all nine batters faced with four fanned in three innings of work.
