Preissing Clears Waivers, Assigned To Manchester

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned defenseman Tom Preissing to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Preissing, 30, has seven points (3-4=7) and six penalty minutes in 22 games with the Kings this season. The 6-foot, 197-pound native of Arlington Heights, Illinois, was activated from the injured reserve list on Sunday (March 1). He was placed on the list with an upper body injury on February 10 (retroactive to February 1). Preissing, who signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on July 2, 2007, has 131 points (31-100=131) and 78 penalty minutes in 322 career NHL regular season games with the Kings, Ottawa and San Jose. He will wear No. 42 for the Monarchs.
