Senators Recall Center Peter Regin

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Ottawa Senators recalled today center Peter Regin from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the B-Sens signed center Chris Korchinski to a 25-game professional tryout agreement.

During this, his first season with the B-Sens, Regin has scored 15 goals and added 23 assists while recording 32 penalty minutes in 46 games. The recall is Regin's third this season.

Regin made his National Hockey League debut (becoming only the fifth player born in Denmark to do so) on Jan. 20 vs. Washington and has appeared in six games with Ottawa this season. He recorded his only point when he scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory at St. Louis on Jan. 29.

Regin was Ottawa's second third-round pick (87th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Korchinski, 23, has 19 goals, 20 assists and a +6 rating in 53 games this season with Elmira and Las Vegas (ECHL). A native of Rama, Saskatchewan, Korchinski skated in two AHL games with San Antonio during the 2006-07 season, registering no points and two penalty minutes.

The B-Sens (32-21-5-3, 72 pts.) continue their march to the Calder Cup playoffs tonight when they head south down I-81 to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (37-19-2-2, 78 pts.) at 7:05 p.m. at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
