Penguins Acquire Andy Wozniewski

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Andy Wozniewski from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenseman Danny Richmond, it was announced on Wednesday. Wozniewski will join the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but is not expected to be in uniform when the team takes on the Binghamton Senators tonight at 7:05pm.

Wozniewski, 28, has recorded 17 points (1+16) and 56 penalty minutes in 56 games with the Peoria Rivermen (AHL) this season.

The 6-3, 195 pound native of Buffalo Grove, IL has appeared in 77 career National Hockey League games with the St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs, recording 12 points (2+10) and 81 penalty minutes.

Wozniewski has appeared in 156 career AHL games with the St. John's Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies and Rivermen, recording 58 points (13+45) and 152 penalty minutes.

Richmond, 24, recorded 17 points (3+14) and 108 penalty minutes in 55 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He was acquired by Pittsburgh from the Chicago Blackhawks for Tim Brent on July 17, 2008.
