Falcons Set To Host Pink At The Rink On Saturday

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they will celebrate their first annual breast cancer awareness game titled "Pink at the Rink" on Saturday, March 7, 2009 sponsored by Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation will be on hand to distribute gift packs to women in attendance.
"Pink at the Rink has become a national event throughout the American Hockey League and we're extremely proud to be joining the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation to support the fight against cancer," said Falcons director of sales Chris Thompson.
As part of this special night, Falcons goaltender Devan Dubnyk will be using a pink stick during the game, which will be auctioned off on the concourse that evening. Margaret Pennell, Independent Sales Director from the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, will be singing the National Anthem prior to the game. The team will also recognize breast cancer survivors on the ice prior to the game, and the Mary Kay pink Cadillac and convertible will be parked outside the MassMutual Center prior to the game to celebrate the night.
"Mary Kay always taught us to build other women up," said Mary Kay Cosmetics National Sales Director Cyndee Gress. "Her legacy of love lives on through the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, its mission is to eliminate cancer and to end the epidemic of violence against women. Partnering with the Falcons for Pink at the Rink will help that vision come closer to a reality."
