POWER REPLAY: The Power swept Monday's doubleheader against the Grasshoppers, winning 3-0 and 3-2. Jameson Taillon and Casey Sadler combined for the shutout in game one, and Justin Howard drove in a pair of runs to provide the support. West Virginia led game two 3-0 after four innings, but Greensboro got on the board in the fifth. In the seventh, the Grasshoppers loaded the bases with no one out and scored the once on a base hit by Daniel Black before Trent Stevenson retired the next three on strikeouts to end the game. Sadler and Brandon Cumpton picked up the wins for the day, while Stevenson earned his first save.

BROOMS READY: West Virginia can sweep its first series of the season with a win over Greensboro tonight. The 2010 version of the Power managed just one sweep (from August 2 through the 5 against Delmarva), while the 2009 edition won 10 straight including two series sweeps (Hickory and Lexington between August 8 though 16) during the first year of West Virginia's affiliation with Pittsburgh.

TRIP TO THE DL: Starting pitcher Tyler Waldron was placed on the disabled list over the weekend and the Pittsburgh Pirates promoted Zac Fuesser back to the active roster from State College. Waldron leads the team with three wins, having gone 3-1 over four starts with a 4.71 earned run average. Fuesser is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA over five appearances for West Virginia, including five shutout innings in last Wednesday's win over Hagerstown.

OUT HIT BUT NOT OUTSCORED: Monday's game two victory was the first time this season that West Virginia won a game when being out hit. The Grasshoppers had five more base hits than the Power, including four straight in the top of the seventh. West Virginia is now 1-11 when being out hit by their opponent.

START ME UP: Jameson Taillon pitched four shutout innings last night during the second appearance of his professional career. The 19 year-old right-hander only allowed two hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out six, including five over the first two innings. Taillon was selected second overall by the Pirates during the 2010 draft.

TWO MUCH FUN: The Power are now 4-2 on doubleheader days this season. West Virginia swept a twinbill with Savannah on April 10, winning 9-1 and 2-0, and took both games yesterday. The Power also lost both games of a doubleheader on April 23 at Kannapolis in walk-off fashion, leading 7-6 going in the last half inning and falling 8-7 in both games.

HISTORY WITH THE 'HOPPERS: West Virginia concludes its series against Greensboro tonight. The Power and Grasshoppers will meet 116 more times during the 2011 season, including eight games at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia holds the all-time edge in the series with 50 wins over 78 games, including a 27-13 advantage at home.

POWER POINTS: Zac Fuesser's five relief innings on "Wednesday" were the most by any Power reliever this season... Gift Ngoepe's on-base streak was snapped last night at 14 straight games...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat San Diego 4-3. Garrett Jones and Chris Snyder hit home runs to back James McDonald in the win.. Indianapolis did not play... Altoona walked off with a 10-9 win over Akron... Bradenton dropped a 5-1 final at Palm Beach. Kyle McPherson took the loss.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
