DELMARVA, MD. - Shane Greene threw 7.0 shutout innings to back up a Charleston offense which racked up 16 hits as the RiverDogs defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds, 11-0, in South Atlantic League action Tuesday afternoon in front of a crowd of 3,321 fans at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

Charleston upped its mark to 11-15 with the victory, snapping a five-game losing streak. Delmarva dropped to 16-10 and saw its eleven-game winning streak come to an end.

Greene (2-2) rediscovered his ace form, penning 7.0 scoreless innings while allowing just three base hits and a walk, fanning five in the process.

J.R. Murphy got the RiverDogs off on the right foot in the first, driving a double to left-centerfield off Shorebirds' starter Tim Berry (0-1). Slade Heathcott made the 270-foot trek home from first base, giving Charleston a 1-0 lead.

Murphy was part of the action again in the third, as the RiverDogs staged a two-out rally to forge a 3-0 advantage. Kelvin Castro singled, and Murphy picked up his second double of the day to put two runners in scoring position for Rob Segedin. Segedin beat out a RBI single to the right side of the infield, and another run came in to touch the plate when Mychal Givens made a wild throw to first base.

Charleston continued to pour it on with three more tallies off Berry in the fourth, pushing the cushion to 6-0.

Kelvin De Leon hammered a double to center field to start the inning, and Kyle Roller followed suit for the first score of the frame. Eduardo Sosa stepped into the box next and laid down a sacrifice bunt, plating Roller when Jonathan Schoop uncorked an errant throw. Jose Mojica capped the scoring, plugging the hole on the right side to chase Sosa home.

The three-run fourth spelled the end of Berry's day, as the left-hander allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits, walking one and striking out three.

Sosa and Segedin powered home runs to headline a four-run seventh off Delmarva reliever Cameron Roth as Charleston took a commanding 10-0 lead.

Segedin began the damage with his second homer of the year, a solo shot to left. Ramon Flores drew his league-leading 24th free pass, and then trotted in to cross the plate on Roller's second double of the contest. Sosa then provided the icing on the cake, cracking his first jack of the season - an opposite field blast - to account for the double-digit lead.

Sosa put the finishing touches on a 3-for-4 outing in the ninth, rapping a RBI double to plate Roller for an 11-0 lead.

Roller and Segedin finished with three hits and two RBI apiece to help pace the RiverDogs attack on a banner afternoon.

The RiverDogs enjoy an off-day before returning to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for an eight-game homestand, Thursday, at 7:05 pm, versus the Lakewood BlueClaws. Left-hander Nik Turley (1-1, 4.10 ERA) is expected to toe the slab for Charleston, against fellow southpaw Ervis Manzanillo (0-1, 5.71 ERA) of Lakewood.
