Congrats to Coach French: Head Coach Mark French became the fastest coach in American Hockey League history to win 100 games behind an AHL bench. French reached the milestone in HERSHEY ‚¬â„¢S 2- 1 win over the Connecticut Whale at XL Center in Hartford Friday night. French won 100 games in just 147 games , winning his first on October 3, 2009 vs. Norfolk.

The home stretch: HERSHEY has endured playing in 14 road cities in just over five weeks, including a stretch of seven games in nine nights concluded on Sunday. The BEARS have just 11 games remaining, of which only five will come away from Giant Center. HERSHEY will be at Springfield this Friday, Adirondack on March 25, Norfolk on April 1-2, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on April 8.

BEARS acquire Kozek: The BEARS added forward depth last Monday with left wing Andrew Kozek acquired on loan from the Atlanta Thrashers. Kozek picked up two assists in his first three games played in a Chocolate and White sweater this past weekend, including his first point at home Sunday vs. Norfolk.

Life begins at 40: The BEARS won its 40th game of the season Friday at Connecticut, giving HERSHEY a sixth consecutive 40-win season. The six straight seasons of 40 or more wins is a franchise record.

Schaefer the workhorse: Goaltender Nolan Schaefer, acquired on loan from the Boston Bruins March 4, has started six of HERSHEY ‚¬â„¢S seven games since arriving in Chocolatetown. Schaefer is 2-2-2 in his first six games for the BEARS.

Practice schedule: HERSHEY will practice Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Giant Center this week before departing for Springfield.
