Welch Gets the Call from Atlanta

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled defenseman NOAH WELCH from the Chicago Wolves.

WELCH has appeared in 39 outings with the Wolves this season, posting 10 assists, 12 points and 48 penalty minutes. The 28-year-old blueliner also holds seventh on the squad with a +8 plus/minus rating.

The Brighton, Mass., native skated in two contests with Atlanta earlier this season. He has tallied nine points (4G, 5A) and 58 penalty minutes in 75 career National Hockey League matchups with Atlanta, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguins, spanning parts of five seasons (2006-09, 2010-present).

The Harvard graduate has also accumulated 76 points (19G, 57A) in 235 penalty minutes in 198 career American Hockey League games with the Wolves, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Rochester Americans from 2005 to present.
