
Philadelphia Union Announce Schedule for Continuation of Play in Home Markets

CHESTER, Pa. - As announced by Major League Soccer today, the Philadelphia Union will resume regular-season play following the team's successful run in the MLS is Back Tournament. The Union earned seven points toward the regular season standings with a 2-0-1 record in the group stage of the tournament, tied for the second-most points gained by any club during the unique event. Currently tied for third place in the Eastern Conference, the Union will play their first match of the 2020 season in Subaru Park on August 25 against rival New York Red Bulls.
The return to play in home markets will feature comprehensive health and safety protocols, including regular COVID-19 testing for players, coaches and essential staff. The Philadelphia Union is continuing to evaluate the ability to have fans at future home matches in accordance with state and local guidelines and look forward to when fans can be welcomed back to Subaru Park safely.

MLS plans to announce the balance of the regular season schedule by early September as the league continues to work with infectious disease experts, league and club medical personnel, and government officials in all markets in charting a course for the completion of the 2020 season.
