Penguins Release Dimitrakos from PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released forward Niko Dimitrakos from his 25-game professional tryout agreement.

Dimitrakos, recorded six goals and four assists for 10 points in 21 games with the Penguins.

The 32-year old skated overseas from 2008-2011, splitting last year with Modo Hockey of the Swedish Elite League and the Mannheim Eagles of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

A former fifth-round draft pick (155th overall) of San Jose in 1999, Dimitrakos has appeared in 158 NHL games with the Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers.
