The Milwaukee Admirals broke open a 1-1 tie with a four-goal third period in a 5-1 win over the Peoria Rivermen Friday night at the Bradley Center. The Rivermen finished their season long nine-game road trip with a 4-5-0 record and now are 10-11-1-1 on the year.

It took nearly 36 minutes for the game's first goal to be scored. Peoria's Derek Nesbitt registered his eighth of the year on the power play from T.J. Hensick and Jonathon Cheechoo. Nesbitt found a loose puck in the crease and was backhand it past Jeremy Smith.

The Rivermen lead lasted for only 1:20 when Michael Latta wristed a shot off the post and in for his seventh of the year from Taylor Beck and Ryan Ellis.

Milwaukee took their first lead of the game 3:18 into the third period. Viktor Bartley carried the puck into the Rivermen zone and let a shot go from just inside the blue line that beat Ben Bishop blocker side for the eventual game winner. The Admirals took a 3-1 lead on Beck's fifth of the year at the 5:42 mark. Beck was left all alone in front of the Rivermen cage and was able to put a backhand by Bishop.

Joel Champagne made it a 4-1 game with his first professional goal at the 12:46 mark of the third. Mark Van Guilder lifted a pass over and outstretched defender to Champagne on a two-on-one and his shot beat a sliding Bishop. With just over three minutes left in the game Latta buried a breakaway to cap the scoring.

The Rivermen converted on one of their two power plays and killed both of Milwaukee's chances. Bishop stopped 21 of 26 Admirals shots while Smith registered the victory with 24 saves.
