Aeros Launch Military Jersey Auction

HOUSTON (DECEMBER 2, 2011) --- The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) have launched an online jersey auction featuring military-themed jerseys worn during the team's Military Salute Night game on Nov. 18.

The jerseys feature a desert camouflage design with the Aeros logo prominently displayed on the front crest. A total of 36 jerseys are up for grabs, including team captain Jon DiSalvatore, goaltender Matt Hackett and rookie defenseman Chay Genoway. Also included are current members of the Minnesota Wild David McIntyre and Casey Wellman. The auction ends at noon on Dec.12. The winning bidders will be notified by the Aeros to complete payment and arrange pickup/shipping.

The Aeros welcomed over 3,500 military members and their families to the game on Nov. 18. Nearly 300 different businesses and individuals donated to the event making it possible for active duty and retired armed services personnel to attend. A full list of donors is posted on Aeros.com. Some of the groups in attendance included the Texas Lonestar Korean War Vets, VA Hospital of Houston, American Legion #472, 75th Battle Command Training Division US Army, University of Houston ROTC, US Coast Guard and Marines 4 Life.

The Aeros visit the Rochester Americans on Friday night at 6:35 p.m. (CST).
