Hamilton Police to Issue Tickets to Unimpaired Drivers

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs have teamed up with the Hamilton Police Service to reduce impaired driving. The Hamilton Police are now issuing tickets - Bulldogs tickets - to drivers who successfully complete RIDE lanes.
For the upcoming holiday season, the organizations have partnered to remind motorists to make responsible choices by not drinking and driving, and to save lives that might otherwise be lost.
"The Hamilton Bulldogs are proud to be partnering with the Hamilton Police Service once again this year to reduce impaired driving," said Ed Chamberlain, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Hamilton Bulldogs. "By supporting police spot checks and the RIDE program, we hope to encourage the public to look for other alternatives to driving impaired, anytime and anywhere."
Hamilton Police will be handing out vouchers (while quantities last) to drivers who go through RIDE lanes. The vouchers can be turned in to the Copps Coliseum box office for one free admission ticket to one of eight upcoming Hamilton Bulldogs games in December and January.
"We thank the Hamilton Bulldogs for partnering with us, for showing their support of this community and its citizens, said Hamilton Police A/Chief Ken Leendertse. "The vouchers they have generously donated are our way of thanking drivers for driving safe. It's our home-and-home series - drivers who are driving home safely get a ticket to a Hamilton Bulldogs home game."
Hamilton Police conduct RIDE lanes throughout the year. By the end of November, over 126,000 vehicles have been stopped. Thousands more cars are expected to be pulled over throughout the month of December as police step up their efforts in road safety.
The Hamilton Bulldogs' next game is scheduled TONIGHT, Friday, December 2th, 2011 when they will host the St. John's IceCaps at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Single game tickets for the 2011-2012 season are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, any Ticketmaster Outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or through charge-by-phone at 1-855-872-5000.
