BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators defeated the Manchester Monarchs 4-1 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena Friday night. With the win, the B-Sens halted a six game win streak for the Monarchs. Robin Lehner started in goal, making 27 saves to improve to 5-8-1 on the season and end a personal seven game losing streak.

Andre Petersson gave the B-Sens the lead 1:46 into the first, crashing the net as he poked his fifth goal of the season past Jeff Zatkoff. Mike Hoffman extended Binghamton's lead by two, capitalizing on a power play at 8:46. Stephane Da Costa assisted on both goals, earning his first two points as a Binghamton Senator.

The B-Sens increased their lead to a commanding 3-0 just past the midway point of the period. Mark Borowiecki's cross-ice pass found Josh Godfrey, who blasted it in on goal from the point. Mike Bartlett was parked at the edge of the crease to tip it home, earning his first goal of the season.

With 55.5 seconds remaining in the opening period, Patrick Mullen scored off a Brandon Kozun rebound to put the Monarchs on the board, narrowing the deficit to 3-1.

Neither team would add to the score through the second period and much of the third.

Eric Gryba sealed the victory for Binghamton as he hit an empty net with 1:23 remaining in regulation.

The B-Sens travel to Worcester tomorrow to take on the Sharks at 7 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens.
