ALBANY, N.Y. (Dec. 2, 2011) - Brad Mills' deflection at 6:23 of the third period broke a 3-3 tie and proved to be the game-winner as the Albany Devils came from behind to defeat the Bridgeport Sound tigers 4-3 at the Times Union Center on Friday night. With the win, Albany improves to 11-7-2-1. The Sound Tigers fall to 10-8-3-1.

The Sound Tigers opened the scoring in what became a wild opening 20 minutes of play. Scott Howes continued his impressive stint with the Sound Tigers, spinning and firing from the right circle past Albany goaltender Keith Kinkaid just 3:45 into the game for his fourth goal in five games with the Sound Tigers to give Bridgeport a 1-0 lead. Albany answered five minutes later on the power play when Steve Zalewski gathered a loose puck from a blocked shot and beat Anders Nilsson to even the score at one.

The Sound Tigers retook the lead with a power play goal of their own just 63 seconds later, when Jeremy Colliton deflected Ty Wishart's shot past Kinkaid to make the score 2-1. Colliton's goal was his 72nd career goal as a Sound Tiger, tying him with Trevor Smith for second on the Sound Tigers all-time goal-scoring list. Sean Backman gave the Sound Tigers a 3=2D1 lead when he beat Kinkaid five-hole from the right circle on the rush at 11:03 of the opening frame. Kinkaid was pulled in favor of Jeff Frazee after allowing three goals on seven shots.

Zalewski scored his second power play goal of the first period at 15:06 when he knocked a rebound past Nilsson to bring Albany within a goal. Albany out shot the Sound Tigers 20-9 in the opening period, but the Bridgeport held the 3-2 lead after the 20 minutes.

The score remained that way through a scoreless second period until the Devils erased their deficit early in the third period. Zalewski sent a centering feed to Mike Sislo as he cut through the slot towards the net, and Sislo knocked the puck past Nilsson to even the score at three just 2:07 into the third. Mills scored the game-winner after the Sound Tigers were unable to clear their own zone. Matt Taormina kept a clearing feed at the Sound Tigers blue line, and sent a puck on net that Mills deflected past Nilsson to give Albany a lead they would not relinquish. The Sound Tigers applied ample pressure in the second half of the period, playing most of the final 10 minutes in Albany's zone. However, the Sound Tigers were unable to net the equalizer as the Devils came away with the one-goal victory.

Anders Nilsson made 32 saves in defeat. Jeff Frazee earned the win for Albany after coming on in relief of Kinkaid, stopping all 13 shots he faced.

The Sound Tigers will look for a split of the home-and-home series tomorrow evening when they host the Devils at Webster Bank Arena at 7:00 p.m.
