Kansas City Monarchs News Release

Eddie Pearson is the Player of the Month for July because of his impressive efforts for the T-Bones. Pearson is the T-Bones' designated hitter, who occasionally plays at first base. The T-Bones acquired Pearson from St. Paul in late June.

"Eddie is an outstanding player who we received in a mid-season trade. Without him, we would not be in contention for first place in the division." stated manager Al Gallagher.

Eddie had six multi-hit games from July 18 to July 26, and had at least one RBI in each of those games. He has a total of 13 multi-hit games for the month that helped the T-Bones to their first winning month this season (14-12). He ended the month with a ten game hitting streak from July 18th to July 30th, and had hits in 16 of 17 games from July 10th to July 30th. Eddie is among the league leaders in average, RBIs, and hits. He is hitting an impressive .347 since coming to the T-Bones.

The Kansas City fans have a great love for Eddie, and he always receives a round of cheers every time he is up to bat.

"After every game there is a flock of children asking Eddie for his autograph, he patiently signs all of their souvenirs. We are very fortunate to have a player who is so talented and so conscientious of his fans," stated Jennifer Olson, media relations director.

One Time Only

Come join the Kansas City T-Bones as they kick off a very unique home stand this week at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The T-Bones will be playing 10 games in a row at home, the longest home streak of the season. This home stand is due, in large part, to the fact that the T-Bones had to open the season with 13 games on the road while construction at CommununityAmerica Ballpark was completed.

This home stand is great for all you die-hard T-Bones fans out there who live for the next chance to see your T-Bones play ball. It's also great for any baseball fan with a busy schedule. With this many home games in a row, everyone should be able to find one game that works for them.

Don't miss your opportunity to catch all the action over the next two weeks. The T-Bones open against Gary Southshore and then follow up with series against Sioux City August 8-10 and Sioux Falls August 11 - 14. T-Bones Baseball. It's Fun Well Done.
