Aviators Finalize Playoff Roster

Coastal Bend Aviators News Release


In a race to beat the trading deadline when all Central League rosters become frozen, the Coastal Bend Aviators acquired LHP Gabe Council and re-signed RHP Gilbert Landestoy. Landestoy will re-join the Aviators in Saturday's contest against the San Angelo Colts. Council will make his first appearance in an Aviators uniform Saturday night in game two of the three game series against the Colts.

Council was a two year starter for the Tigers of the University of Memphis and ranked 10th in relief appearances in Conference USA. In April of this year, Gabe was signed by the Richmond Roosters in the first round of the Independent Frontier League draft. "Council is a solid left-handed reliever," commented manager Les Lancaster. "We are looking for Gabe to come in and provide great bullpen relief."
