
Pats Begin Final Overnight Trip in Lethbridge

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats begin their final overnight road trip of the season when they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday inside the Enmax Centre.
The Pats have dropped their last two games as they look to bounce back tonight in a crucial "four point" game against the Hurricanes who they are chasing in the Eastern Conference standings, as the Canes' are five points up on the Pats for fifth. Meanwhile, the Medicine Hat Tigers (who the Pats play tomorrow) are four points back of Regina for sixth.
Regina is coming off a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday, capping off a five game homestand where the club went 3-2 on it. The Pats got goals from Tye Spencer and Connor Bedard who scored his 60th goal of the season. Kelton Pyne made 27 saves in the loss. The Pats went 0-3 on the power play and 3-4 on the penalty kill. The final shots were 33-30 for Regina.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes on the other hand are coming off a 2-1 loss on Wednesday to the Red Deer Rebels, as they have now lost their last two contests as they previously fell 5-1 to the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday. The Hurricanes only goal came from Chase Pauls with under 15 seconds to play in the third. Bryan Thomson made 34 saves in the loss. The final shots were 36-21 for Red Deer. Both teams went 0-4 on their power plays.

On Wednesday March 8, Connor Bedard scored his 60th goal of the season, doing so in his 49th game, becoming the first player since Dale Derkatch to score 60 goals in 50 or fewer games who accomplished that feat on Feb. 11, 1983. Bedard is now the fifth fastest player to reach 60 goals and the first Pats player to hit the mark since Ronald Petrovický in 1997-98.
The Pats are 13-7-1 over their last 21 games since Jan. 8, defeating Calgary twice (6-2 & 6-5), Saskatoon (7-4), Portland (4-3), Swift Current (5-2), Lethbridge twice (3-2 & 4-2), Moose Jaw (8-4), Medicine Hat (6-3), Brandon twice (4-3 & 6-3), Winnipeg (5-3) & Red Deer (6-5) which comes following a three game skid from Jan. 1 - Jan. 6. During that time, they have outscored their opp. 95-to-84 (+11 goal diff).
The Pats had their season-high six game winning-streak end on Sunday, March 5, and have dropped their last two games since. Now winners of six of their last eight games, they have outscored opponents 35-to-28 (+7) over that span.
