Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Behind a five-run sixth inning, the Snappers defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-3 and were able to get out of Appleton with a 2-1 series victory. Beloit starter Daniel Berlind picked up his first win of the season going five strong innings and only allowing two runs off four hits.

After the Timber Rattlers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, the Snappers came charging back with five of their own in the sixth. Chris Parmelee delivered the big blow, cracking a grand slam to right field and putting Beloit ahead 4-2. Three batters later the Snappers added another run off the bat of Greg Yersich. Yersich hit a sacrifice fly to right and extended Beloit's lead to 5-2.

Wisconsin would threaten again in the bottom of the ninth with one run, but Matt Williams was able to record the final three outs and pick up his first save of the season. Williams' save allowed the Snaps to escape with a 5-3 victory.
