The Quad Cities River Bandits will play out the remainder of the current homestand away from Modern Woodmen Park, as the flooding Mississippi River has continued to extend its reach past the railroad tracks on S. Gaines St. and has surrounded the ballpark.

While the field and stadium themselves are well protected, access to Modern Woodmen Park has been cut off. The Midwest League deemed the conditions surrounding the stadium unsafe, prompting the relocation of the remainder of the homestand.

Quad Cities will play their three-game series against the Lansing Lugnuts at a series of different locations. Monday will feature a 7:00 p.m. contest at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. The series will shift to Alliant Energy Field in Clinton for a Noon start on Tuesday, while Wednesday's game will be played at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City at 6:00 p.m. The three ballparks are ordinarily home to the Midwest League's Cedar Rapids Kernels and Clinton LumberKings, and the NCAA's Iowa Hawkeyes.

Tickets to all three games will be offered to fans at a discounted price of $5 for any seat in the ballpark. Tickets that have already been purchased to any of the three games previously scheduled at Modern Woodmen Park will be honored at the new game locations. Fans that cannot make it will also have the opportunity to exchange their tickets for any future home game this season, similar to procedure for a rainout.

On the heels of heavy rains on Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service forecasted that additional precipitation over the weekend would cause the Mississippi River to crest at approximately 19.6 feet on Tuesday, a significant increase from the 16.5-foot height that was reached last Wednesday.

When the ballpark was renovated prior to the 2004 season, the City of Davenport built in berms and floodwalls to help protect the ballpark from the period flooding that inevitably occurs along the banks of the Mississippi River. Both safeguards are in place, and on Saturday city workers and firemen were at Modern Woodmen Park stacking sandbags atop the floodwalls.

In the event that any changes are made to this schedule, the media will be promptly notified.
