
Kernels Shuffle Up Bullpen

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce today that RHP Sammy Leon has been promoted to Rancho Cucamonga of the California League and that RHP Milan Dinga has been assigned to Cedar Rapids from the Salt Lake Bees of the Pacific Coast League.
Dinga, a resident of Tampa FL, was selected by the Angels in the 10th round of the 2007 Free Agent Draft and appeared in four games at Orem last season with no record, a 1.35 ERA and a save. He appeared in one game at Salt Lake and allowed a hit and a walk and struck out one in one inning of work.
Leon appeared in eight games for the Kernels and posted a 1-1 record with a 1.98 ERA. He was the winning pitcher in the Kernels 8-7, 11-inning win over West Michigan on Saturday. In 13.2 IP, he allowed four runs (three earned) and 10 hits with three walks and 17 strikeouts.
Dinga is will arrive in Cedar Rapids this afternoon and be in uniform and available for the Kernels 6:30 pm at Burlington tonight at Community Field.
Today's transaction leaves the Kernels roster at the MWL maximum of 25 players with one currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels next home game is Monday, May 5, when they take on the Peoria Chiefs at 6:30 pm.
