Chiefs Drop Series Finale with Wizards 7-2

The Peoria Chiefs dropped the final game of a three-game series with the Fort Wayne Wizards 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at O'Brien Field in front of 3,401 fans. The loss drops the Chiefs to 8-15 on the season and 1-2 on the homestand.

Player of the Game - Marwin Gonzalez (2B) - Gonzalez went 2-for-3 in the game and drove in one of the Chiefs two runs on the afternoon. Gonzalez has now hit safely in his last six games which is tied with Leon Johnson for a team season best.

Peoria will begin a three-game set with the Dayton Dragons on Monday evening at 6:30...Monday is a Sprint Money Monday...All tickets are half-price at the box office...Fans also have the chance to win $50,000 by entering their cell phone numbers at the Sprint kiosk on the concourse...The Chiefs will send RH Hung-Wen Chen (0-0, 0.71) to the mound against RH Scott Carroll (0-1, 5.29) for the Dragons...The game can be heard live beginning with the pre-game show at 6:15 PM online at www.peoriachiefs.com or on WOAM 1350 AM.
