Painchaud Recalled To Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Chad Painchaud has been reassigned to the AHL's Chicago Wolves by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Painchaud played in six games with Gwinnett since being assigned to the Gladiators on March 5th. Painchaud's time in Gwinnett was highlighted by a hat trick that the Mississauga, Ontario native notched in Gwinnett's 8-3 win over the Augusta Lynx on March 8th.

Painchaud also played in two games with the Gladiators earlier in the season. In eight games with Gwinnett this season, Painchaud has compiled seven goals and four assists for 11 points.

Painchaud has also played in 17 games with the Wolves this season collecting two assists. The forward spent all of last season in Gwinnett notching 54 points on 22 goals and 32 assists in 72 games with the Gladiators.

Painchaud should be available for the Wolves as they travel to Cleveland, OH to take on the Lake Erie Monsters on Tuesday.

The Gladiators continue their fifth anniversary season on Thursday, March 20th as they host the Florida Everblades at the Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the play-by-play action in Thursday's game online via Accessnorthga.com on Streaming Channel 3.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
