ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades completed this past week with a 1-1-1 record. The Everblades enter this week's action with a record of 35-21-8 (78 pts., 4th, South Division.)

Thursday, March 20 at Gwinnett Gladiators
Game Time: 7:05 p.m.
The Everblades continue their four-game road trip on Thursday with a trip to Gwinnett. The game is the third of six between the teams this year and the final meeting between the South Division rivals at Gwinnett. The previous two meetings resulted in a pair of Gwinnett wins on Dec. 6 & 7 at Gwinnett. The Gladiators enter this week with a record of 39-19-5 (83 pts., T-2nd, South Division). The Everblades hold an all-time record of 13-16-6 vs. Gwinnett and are 6-11-1 all-time on the road vs. the Gladiators.
Friday, March 21 at South Carolina Stingrays
Game Time: 7:05 p.m.
The Everblades make their final visit to the N. Charleston Coliseum this weekend for their final road game of the season. The Blades and Rays meet for the ninth and final time this season when they get together this Friday night. The Everblades hold a 4-2-2 record vs. South Carolina this year and are 1-1-1 on the road vs. the Stingrays. The last meeting between the teams saw South Carolina collect a 3-1 win this past Saturday night. South Carolina enters this week's action with a record of 40-22-3 (83 pts., T-2nd, South Division). The Everblades hold an all-time record of 42-23-11 vs. South Carolina and are 22-9-4 all-time on the road vs. the Stingrays.

Tuesday, March 11 vs. Mississippi Sea Wolves 4-1 Win
The Everblades finished off their three-game home stand with a three-game sweep of Mississippi. The Sea Wolves scored the game's first goal, but the Everblades finished off with four straight to close out the scoring. Preston Callander scored twice and Mathieu Melanson and Steve Czech tallied Florida's other two goals. Ernie Hartlieb extended his points scoring streak to nine straight games with two assists. Goaltender David Shantz earned the win by stopping 24 of 25 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-for-10; PK: 9-for-9.
Friday, March 14 at Columbia Inferno 3-2 Shootout Loss
The began their final road trip of the regular season with a dramatic come-back at Columbia, only to fall in a shootout. Trailing 2-1 in the final minute of play, the Everblades, with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, saw Derek Damon score with 2.4 seconds remaining in regulation to send the contest into overtime. Ernie Hartlieb pushed his points scoring streak to 10 with a second period power play goal for Florida's other marker. In the shootout Mathieu Melanson scored Florida's lone goal, as Columbia notched the game-winner in the sixth round. In goal David Shantz earned a tie after stopping 21 of 23 shots in regulation and overtime. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-10; PK: 7-for-8.
Saturday, March 15 at South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 Loss
The Everblades suffered their second straight loss to South Carolina on Saturday night. Although Kenndal McArdle scored the game's first goal midway through the first period, the Stingrays scored the next three en-route to their fourth straight win. In goal Kevin Nastiuk played well, but took the tough luck loss after allowing the three goals on 34 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-6; PK: 5-for-5.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week's Everblades Player of the Week nominee is forward Derek Damon who had five points (1g, 4a) in the three games this past week. This week's Goaltender of the Week nominee is David Shantz who was 1-0-1 with a 1.44 goals against average in the two games he played in.
Special Teams Breakdown: Here's a look at the special teams of the Everblades and how it breaks down overall, home and away: Power play: 65-for-363 (17.9%) which ranks the Everblades 11th in the ECHL. At home the Everblades are 39-for-173 (22.5%) which ranks 3rd, and on the road the Everblades are 26-for-190 (13.7%) which ranks 19th. Penalty Kill: 336-for-387 (86.8%) which ranks the Everblades 2nd in the league. At home the 'Blades are 160-for-178 (89.9%) which is 1st in the league and on the road the Everblades have killed off 176 of 209 (84.2%) chances against them which ranks 7th.

Killing Machine!: Over their last 10 games the Everblades have been stellar on the penalty kill, holding their opponents to just three power play goals on 56 chances, for an impressive 94.6% kill rate. During one stretch over the 10-game span, the Everblades killed off 37 straight power play opportunities from Feb. 29 at Pensacola until Mar. 14 at Columbia.
Home Sweet Home: The Everblades are currently on their longest home winning streak of the season, having won their last eight at Germain Arena. The streak began with a 4-1 win on February 9 vs. Augusta. Earlier this season the Everblades strung together a six-game winning streak on home ice as well. For those wondering, the all-time Everblades record for longest home winning streak is 12 done during the 2005-06 season. Also, with seven home games remaining, the Everblades still have a chance to tie the all-time record for most home wins in one season with 28, which was done in 1999-00.
Coach's Show: "Blades Talk!" the Everblades coach's show returns this Tuesday night for another installment. The show takes place live at Don Haney's Smokehouse in Fort Myers from 7 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday night!
