November 3, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins begin the week tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Division with their 4-4-2-0 record (10 points). Head coach Scott Gordon's team spent all of last weekend playing on the road, losing 5-2 in Hartford on Friday, tying Worcester 4-4 on Saturday and falling 3-2 to Springfield on Sunday.
The Bruins return home on Friday, November 7 to host the Lowell Lock Monsters and Saturday, November 8 to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Both games get underway at 7:05 p.m. Following Saturday's contest, the team will travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania to take on the Penguins at 5:05 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550.
Providence was bolstered over the weekend by the addition of centers Ted Donato and Andre Savage. Savage, a member of the Bruins' 1999 Calder Cup championship team, was acquired on October 29 on loan from the Philadelphia Phantoms in exchange for P.J. Stock. Savage ranks 11th in P-Bruins history with 55-75-130 totals in 131 career games. He was named to the 1999 AHL All-Rookie Team after finishing second on the club and in league rookie scoring with 27 goals and 69 points in 63 games. Donato, a veteran of 740 career NHL games, was assigned to Providence by the Boston Bruins on October 31. He had a goal and an assist in two games with Providence over the weekend.
