
Right Wing Alexei Smirnov Assigned to Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were assigned right wing Alexei Smirnov by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Monday.
Smirnov, a first-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, has appeared in eight games for Anaheim this season, recording an assist with two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder had three goals and two assists with 18 penalty minutes in 44 games last season with Anaheim. He also played in 19 games with Cincinnati last season, recording seven goals and three assists with 12 penalty minutes.
A native of Tver, Russia, Smirnov is expected to report immediately to Cincinnati and be available to play Wednesday when the Mighty Ducks face Grand Rapids at 7:00 p.m. at Van Andel Arena.
