Manitoba Moose News Release
Today, the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club formally unveiled the Light the Lamp for Kids Program. The program is a new and exciting way to give your company the opportunity to be involved in a partnership with a professional hockey club, create brand recognition and help different community groups and children's charities in Manitoba.
It will also provide you with the chance to be a pro hockey general manager for a day. 21 companies would be invited to a special Moose player draft at the Winnipeg Arena where you will be treated to a night of food, beverages and a player draft that will make you feel like you are a professional hockey General Manager making the biggest decision of your organization's future.
What happens on draft day?
The Winnipeg Arena ice surface will be transformed into a draft day set-up. Every participating company will be assigned their own draft table where you and three company representatives can look over player stats and related facts that will help you make the big decision when your time comes to draft. Your table will have food and beverages so you can fill up for the big moment. The draft lottery will begin and draft order will be decided based on the lottery system. Once the order is determined, the drafting of players will begin. When it is your turn to make the big decision your company will be called to the podium where you will make your selection. Your chosen player will be called to the podium where you can present him with a hat, shirt or jersey with your company logo on it. All you need to do then is wait for the season to start and observe your drafting skills!
The Draft Day Pay-Off
Other than bragging rights, prizes include the opportunity to play in the historic Winnipeg Arena as well as a trip for two to Vancouver for two nights to watch the NHL parent affiliate of the Moose, the Vancouver Canucks.
