The Providence Bruins begin the week in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with their 34-28-10-4 record (82 points). The Black and Gold is three points behind the third place Worcester IceCats, and is one point away from clinching a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. The Bruins need just one point in their final four games of the regular season to move into the post-season for the 10th time in the 12-year history of the franchise.

Two of the Bruins' four games this week will be played on home ice, beginning on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Portland Pirates. They wrap up the home portion of the 2003-04 regular season on Friday, April 9 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Springfield Falcons. The Bruins' final two games of the regular season will be played on the road, beginning on Saturday, April 10 at 7:05 p.m., when they take on the Worcester IceCats. They close out the season on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m., when they face off with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Friday's game will be Fan Appreciation Night. All fans in attendance will receive a free autographed team photo, courtesy of ABC-6, Bob's Stores and University Orthopedics. The Bruins will also hand out their team awards, including the Hendricks Memorial Fan Appreciation Award. Fans can cast their vote for the award by logging on to www.providencebruins.com. Kutlak was the Boston Bruins' 10th pick, 237th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He has 20-42-62 totals and 163 PIM with Providence from 2000-01 to the present. Laviolette, now the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, was the P-Bruins' first captain during the inaugural 1992-93 season. He also played with Providence from 1994-97.
