Falcons release lent from PTO

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that the club has released right wing Nick Lent from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Lent, 26, recorded 11 points (3g, 8) and 35 penalty minutes (PIM) in 27 games with the Falcons. The 6'5", 225-pound forward scored the first AHL goal of his career in a 5-3 win over the Binghamton Senators on February 22nd. Lent collected three assists in a 5-1 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on March 20th.

Prior to joining Springfield, Lent notched 17 points (7g, 10a) and 51 PIM in 45 games this season with the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

The Falcons inked Lent to a 25-game tryout agreement on February 6th and signed the forward to another PTO on March 27th. The Westwood, Massachusetts native was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes with the team's seventh choice (8th round, 200th overall) in 1996, but did not sign with the NHL club.

Following visits to Manchester and Providence on Wednesday and Friday respectively, the Falcons will play their final home game of the 2003-04 season on Saturday against the Manchester Monarchs.
