Albany River Rats News Release
The Albany River Rats return to the Capital District to host the Hershey Bears in a 7:00pm face-off on Wednesday night at Pepsi Arena. The River Rats then host the Philadelphia Phantoms for the third and final time on Advance Auto Parts D.I.R.T. Car night this Friday at 7:00pm. The Albany River Rats close out their 11th American Hockey League season against the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm. Fan Appreciation Day kicks off at 1:00pm with the annual pre-game block party on South Pearl Street!
Rat Bites:
LW Kenny Magowan made his professional debut in Wednesday night at Hartford. The Kelowna, BC native played four years for Boston University.
LW Joe Hulbig became the second player (Darby) to score 20 goals this season against the Wolf*Pack on Wednesday night. The former first round selection is two away from his AHL career-high of 22 tallies, which came during the 1998-99 campaign
G Matus Kostur stopped 36 shots on goal for his first AHL win and shutout as the River Rats snapped a 10-game road losing streak with a 1-0 overtime win at Lowell on Saturday night.

Thurs., April 8th @ 9:45am - "Rowdy" The Rat will be at Hamagrael Elementary School for the "Reading with Rowdy" Program. Hamagrael Elementary School is located at One McGuffey Lane in Delmar.
Thurs., April 8th @ 12:00pm - A River Rats front office staff member will attend the Taconic Hills Middle School for their annual Career Day Fair. The Taconic Hills Middle School is located off Route 11A in Craryville.
River Rats Rewind: Week 26 â March 29, 2004 (1-3-0-0, 2pts)
March 31st - ALB 3 @ HAR 5 â LW Joe Hulbig scored his 20th goal of the season and G Ari Ahonen made 28 saves as the Wolf*Pack swept the season series two-games-to-none. C Steve Guolla posted a goal and an assist, while LW Kenny Magowan made his professional debut against the top affiliate of the New York Rangers.
April 2nd â ALB 0 @ WBS 3 â LW Max Balmochnykh sent five shots on goal and G Ari Ahonen stopped 29 of 32 shots, as the club produced a winless record in Wilkes-Barre this season (0-3-0). G Martin Brochu stopped 28 shots on goal as the River Rats outhshot the Penguins 28-26 on the evening.
April 3rd â ALB 1 @ LOW 0 F/OT â RW Aleksander Suglobov scored his 11th goal just 27 seconds into overtime and G Matus Kostur stopped all 36 shots on goal for his first AHL win/shutout .C Eric Johansson notched the only assist and the River Rats finished the 2003-04 season series with a 3-1-0 record against Lowell.
April 4th â ALB 0 @ BRI 6 â G Scott Stirling stopped 21 shots on goal for his second AHL shutout of the season and the River Rats concluded the season series with a 2-3-3 record against Bridgeport. Albany's 13th shutout loss of the year established a new league mark for most shutouts against during the regular season.
