THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS...
The SYRACUSE CRUNCH (Columbus) are 2nd in the North Division with a 37-22-10-7 record and 91 points. They trail Hamilton for 1st in the North by three points... The Crunch are 16-14-4-2 on the road this season and are 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games... The Crunch are ranked 2nd overall in the AHL while on the powerplay at a 17.8% success rate and are 16th overall while killing penalties at 84.8%... Left-winger Jeremy Reich has the hot hand for the Crunch tallying 12 points (5G,7A) in his last 10 games... Goaltender Carl Goehring is 2-1-0 in the team's last five games posting a 3.67 GAA and stopping 86 of 97 shots faced... Center Brad Moran leads Syracuse with eight points including seven assists in six games against St. John's this season... The Maple Leafs defeated the Crunch 7-6 in OT March 27. The Maple Leafs trailed the Crunch 5-1 after two periods in that OT win.
The TORONTO ROADRUNNERS (Edmonton) The Roadrunners are 5th in the North Division with 79 points and have a 34-32-8-3 record... They are 14-19-3-2 on the road this season and are 4-6-0-0 in their last 10 games. Toronto is currently on a four-game losing streak... St. John's has won the season series (6-3-1-0) with two games remaining against Toronto, both at Mile One Stadium. Toronto leads St. John's by eight points for the fifth and final playoff berth in the North Division. If St. John's can win their last four games and Toronto lose their last three games both teams would have 79 points. The Maple Leafs would claim the final playoff position by virtue of already having won the season series.... Maple Leafs center Jeff Daw has three goals and nine points in seven games vs Toronto while the Roadrunners' Jamie Wright has 10 points (5G,5A) in 10 games... Center Mike Bishia has eight points, all assists, in his last 10 games... Toronto is ranked 17th in the AHL while on the powerplay at 14.7 % and are 24th overall at 82.6% while playing shorthanded.
WHO'S HOT...
Sebastien Centomo: Has a win and a tie in his last two starts. Centomo leads all Maple Leafs goalies with 12 wins.
Ben Ondrus: Ondrus has four points (2G,2A) and is a plus one in his last five games.
Aaron Gavey: Gavey leads the team with 65 points (21G,44A) in 73 games this season. He has seven points in his last five games.
Nathan Barrett: Barrett has six points (3G,3A) and is a plus two in his last four games.
Josh Holden: Holden has eight points in his last three games including five assists.
