Albany River Rats News Release
Albany N.Y. â The Albany River Rats today announced that Ronald McDonald will make a special appearance at the team's season closer and block party on Saturday, April 10 at Pepsi Arena. The event marks the end of the River Rats' second annual Spring Cleaning Drive where fans are asked to bring newly purchased cleaning items, toiletry products, and paper goods to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. Ronald will be on hand to thank River Rats fans for their support and to mix and mingle with attendees at the game.
"Ronald McDonald is very happy to visit Pepsi Arena," said Debbie Ross, House Manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. "He is coming to express our thanks to the River Rats organization and fans for their continued support. They've helped touch the lives of countless families with seriously ill children across our region, and we're grateful that they decided to help us again this year."
Ronald McDonald will greet fans from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday during the River Rats annual block party, and again inside the arena during the River Rats 4:00pm game against the Syracuse Crunch. Fans with donated items for the Spring Cleaning Drive may drop them off at the River Rats office, or in the specially marked boxes located next to the River Rats Fan Relations table on the Pepsi Arena concourse.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region provides comfort, support, and respite for families of seriously ill children. The organization provides a home-like environment with the Ronald McDonald House of Albany and the Family Room in the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, and awards grants to various programs in the community that strive to enhance the lives of children.
