
Bulldogs finish off regular season schedule in Manitoba

The Hamilton Bulldogs will finish the 2003-04 regular season schedule with a pair of games in Winnipeg versus the Manitoba Moose. The Bulldogs will face the Moose on Thursday, April 8th and Sunday, April 10th, which each game beginning at 8:30 p.m., respectively. Hamilton has won each of the previous six meetings this season versus the Moose.
The Bulldogs currently lead the AHL's North Division with 94 points on a record of 40 wins, 24 losses, 10 ties and 4 overtime losses.

NORTH DIVISION STANDINGS
BULLDOGS TEAM NOTES:
The Hamilton Bulldogs won their 40th game of the season on Sunday when they defeated the Rochester Americans 3-1 in front of 11,316 fans at Copps Coliseum ... the Bulldogs have now won 40 or more games in three of eight seasons in Hamilton (1998-89, 2002-03 & 2003-04) ... Sunday's attendance of 11,316 was the second largest crowd for a Bulldogs' home game this season ... Hamilton finished the home portion of their regular season schedule with a record of (24-8-5-2) ... the Bulldogs' 24 home-ice wins this season is the second most in franchise history ... the Bulldogs have averaged the fourth most goals scored per game among AHL teams - 2.90 ... Hamilton has earned a record of (31-18-6-1) against North Division opponents this season ... the Bulldogs are undefeated this season when scoring four or more goals in a game (27-0-2-0) ... Hamilton will look to finish the season above .500 on the road ... the Bulldogs' current road record stands at (16-16-5-1) ... the Bulldogs po! wer play is operating at 15.8% (58 for 367) - 10th in the AHL ... on the penalty kill, Hamilton has a 86.6% (304 for 351) success rate - 10th in the AHL

Benoit Gratton - was the Bulldogs top scorer on home-ice this season from the current roster with 34 points (11-23-34)
Eero Somervuori - scored his first career AHL hat-trick versus Milwaukee- April 1 (5-3 W)
Tomas Plekanec - is currently Hamilton's leading scorer with 60 points (21-39-60)
Francois Beauchemin - leads all Hamilton defenceman in scoring with 34 points (8-26-34) in 75 GP
Chris Higgins - is fourth among AHL rookies in scoring 47 points (21-26-47) in 65GP
Alexander Perezhogin - is fifth among AHL rookies in scoring with 46 points (20-26-47) in 75 GP
Jean-Philippe Cote - carries a (+24) plus/minus rating, which is 2nd among AHL rookies
JOE CAHILL HOSTS 'DOGBITES WEELY RADIO SHOW on 820 CHAM - MONDAYS
Legendary radio personality Joe Cahill hosts 'DOGBITES - a weekly half-hour Hamilton Bulldogs radio show every Monday at 7:30 p.m. on Hamilton's 820 CHAM. Bulldogs play-by-play announcer Derek Wills will join Joe Cahill. The weekly show will feature Bulldogs interviews, highlights from the past week and much more.

DANIS NAMED TOP THREE FINALIST FOR 2004 HOBEY BAKER AWARD:
Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis has been named a top-three finalist for the 2004 Hober Baker Award, given to the top collegiate men's hockey player in the United States. Danis played his senior year this past season at Brown University. Joining Danis in the "Hobey Hat-Trick" is North Dakota's Zach Parise and Minnesota-Duluth's Junior Lessard.
Only the second player in ECAC history to be honoured as Player of the Year and receive the Ken Dryden Award as the league's best netminder in the same season, Danis was named both First Team All-ECAC and First Team All-Ivy. The 2004 Ivy League Player of the Year, Danis helped to lead Brown to its best ECAC finish since 1995, while leading the team to its first Ivy League Championship since 1995. Danis played in 30 games at Brown this season, earning a record of 15-11-4, a save percentage of .942 (2nd in NCAA) and a goals against average of 1.81 (3rd in NCAA)
The committee and fan balloting determined the 2004 Hat Trick Finalists. The winner of the 2004 Hobey Baker Award will be announced at the Frozen Four at Faneuil Hall in Boston on Friday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. ET
Danis has won each of his two starts with the Hamilton Bulldogs, posting a 1.50 goals against average, a .933 save percentage and one shutout.
DUNCAN MILROY NAMED BULLDOGS 2003-04 AMERICAN SPECIALTY/AHL MAN OF THE YEAR
The Hamilton Bulldogs are proud to announce that Duncan Milroy has been named the Hamilton Bulldogs' winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Hamilton community and charitable organizations during the 2003-04 season.
Milroy, a first year pro, always took it upon himself to give back to the fans. Overall Milroy was a great ambassador for the Hamilton Bulldogs organization for the 2003-04 season. Listed below are the activities Milroy took part in during the 2003-04 season.
- Honourary chairman for Travis' Battle game - March 26th - appeared at kickoff press conference at Fortinos Supermarket with local media - proceeds from upper bowl tickets went towards the Travis Carter Fund, which will help Travis Carter, a six-year-old boy who suffers from Battens Disease o Visited 12 different Hamilton area schools throughout the season, where he read stories to children and answered all of their questions o Assisted with local minor hockey practices o Participated in the Bulldogs 2003 Food Drive by loading food onto ATS Truck - all food was donated to charities throughout the greater Hamilton area o Joined the entire Bulldogs team at the McMaster Children's Hospital Christmas party - visited with the sick children
