P-Bruins Family Weekend Friday and Saturday

The Providence Bruins won two of their three games this weekend to remain in a tie for first place in the Atlantic Division with a 9-3-1-0 record, 19 points. The P-Bruins have won seven of their last eight games and have points in eight of their last nine. On Friday, the P-Bruins defeated the Norfolk Admirals 6-3. Six different players scored for the P-Bruins including defenseman Mark Stuart in his first game of the season and Wacey Rabbit, his first professional goal. In his first AHL game this year, Hannu Toivonen earned the victory in net stopping 29 of 32 shots. On Saturday, Providence fell to the Worcester Sharks 6-3 to snap a six game winning streak. Ryan Glenn led the scoring with three points (1g, 2a), while Martins Karsums had a two point night with a goal and an assist. On Sunday, the P-Bruins dug out of a 3-1 deficit after the second period against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to win in overtime 4-3. Karsums scored the goal to send the game into the extra session and also tallied the game winner 1:57 into overtime.

The P-Bruins return to the ice Friday for another three game weekend. Providence is home Friday and Sunday at the Dunkin' Donuts Center for Family Weekend. The Family Weekend package includes four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for only $44. Additional tickets, hot dogs and sodas can be purchased for $11 per ticket, hot dog and soda. Fans can purchase tickets at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office, on the team website at providencebruins.com or by calling the P-Bruins' ticket office at (401) 273-5000. Friday, November 17 the P-Bruins face the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, November 19 are home versus the 2006 Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears at 4:05 p.m. In between the P-Bruins have a road contest Saturday, November 18 at the DCU Center against the Worcester Sharks at 7:00 p.m.

This weekend, before their home games Friday and Sunday, the Providence Bruins are partnering with The RI Community Food Bank and Wings to Go to collect non-perishable food items. Starting one hour before the games in the lobby of the Dunkin' Donuts Center, Providence Bruin players' wives and girlfriends will be collecting the non-perishable food items. Everyone who brings an item to the game will receive a coupon for TEN FREE WINGS FROM WINGS TO GO. On Monday, November 20 the food will be delivered by Providence Bruin players to the RI Community Food Bank.

Six weeks into the season two rookies lead the P-Bruins in scoring. RW Kris Versteeg leads the way with 13 points (5g, 8a) after recording four points (1g, 3a) last weekend. RW Martins Karsums moved into second on the team in scoring with 11 points (6g, 5a) after tallying four points (3g, 1a) last weekend. There is currently a three way tie for third on the team in scoring between C's Ben Walter and David Krejci and LW Pascal Pelletier. Each player has ten points.

This season the P-Bruins have teamed up with Serono and MS Lifelines for the second season of "Sigalet Saves for MS." For every save Jordan Sigalet makes this season $20 will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Rhode Island Chapter. Through his first three games, Sigalet made 57 saves, which means so far this season Serono will be donating $1,140 to the MS Society - Rhode Island Chapter.
