Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced today they are partnering with The RI Community Food Bank and Wings to Go to collect non-perishable food items before their home games on Friday, November 17 versus the Portland Pirates and Sunday, November 19 versus the Hershey Bears.
Starting one hour before the games in the lobby of the Dunkin' Donuts Center, Providence Bruin players' wives and girlfriends will be collecting the non-perishable food items. Everyone who brings an item to the game will receive a coupon for TEN FREE WINGS FROM WINGS TO GO. On Monday, November 20 the food will be delivered by Providence Bruins defenseman Sean Curry and left wing Pascal Pelletier to the RI Community Food Bank.
"We are grateful for the support of the Providence Bruins and their fans," commented Rosie Connors, Interim Executive Director of the Food Bank. "In order to ensure that struggling Rhode Islanders have food this holiday season and in the weeks beyond, we need to make sure that our shelves remain stocked. We hope the generous incentive from Wings-To-Go will help encourage folks to give," finished Connors.
Any members of the media interested in photo opportunities or speaking with Curry and Pelletier or representatives from the RI Community Food Bank may do so at the food bank on Monday, November 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Providence Bruins players will be at the RI Community Food Bank delivering and helping unload the food.
