Friday, DEVILS 3 vs. Manchester 2, SO

Lowell came from a goal down twice on Friday night in front of their home crowd, and eventually prevailed 3-2 in the shootout. Chris Minard scored in regulation and added a shootout tally in the win. Dan LaCouture picked up the other goal for Lowell, while Frank Doyle made 31 saves. Justin Papineau and Petr Vrana a! lso lit the lamp in the shootout for the Devils, in the first shootout win in team history.

Saturday, Admirals 5 vs. DEVILS 4, OT

The Devils held a 4-2 lead in the third period, but two goals in the span of 57 seconds midway through the final frame tied the game and eventually helped lift visiting Norfolk to the victory. Chris Minard scored twice for the Devils, and his linemate Justin Papineau recorded three assists. The Admirals won the game with a Troy Brouwer goal with 39 seconds left in OT.

Sunday, Devils 4 @ WOLF PACK 1

The Devils surrendered the first goal (for the third straight game), but scored four straight to win at Hartford. Jordan Parise made 34 saves for his second straight win in net, and Nicklas Bergfors tallied a goal and an assist. Jason Ryznar, David Clarkson and Tomas Harant also scored for Lowell.

In the standings

By going 2-0-1-0 over the three-game weekend, the Devils claimed five out of a possible six points and sit alone in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. They trail first place Portland and Providence by five points in the standings. The Devils have two games in hand on the Pirates.

Coming Up

The Devils play two on the road against divisional foes on Friday and Saturday night before returning home on Sunday to host the Worcester Sharks. Friday night they travel to Manchester for their third straight weekend with a game against the Monarchs at 7:35 p.m. On Saturday, they travel to first-place Portland for their second meeting of the season against the Pirates at 7:05 p.m.

Sunday's game against the Sharks is slated for a 4:05 p.m. start at the Tsongas Arena. After the game there will be a team autograph session. Fans are also welcome to hit the ice for a free post-game skate. A limited number of skates are available for use at no extra charge, or fans may bring their own to the game. Around the Horns

The Devils have taken at least a point in six of their last seven games (4-1-1-1).

The Devils set a season high for shots on goal Friday, with 42, only to break it Saturday night against Norfolk with 58 shots on goal. They also had a season-high 22 shots during the second period alone on Saturday.

Chris Minard is tied for the Devils lead in goals with four, despite playing in just five games this season. He picked up three goals over the weekend. Nicklas Bergfors scored his fourth of the season on Sunday.

Lowell came out of their power play slump over the weekend with a power play goal in all three games. They had gone five straight games without tallying on the man advantage (0-for-16).

Since surrendering six goals on 32 shots in his professional debut, G Jordan Parise has stopped 78 of 81 shots in his last two starts to improve to 2-1-0 on the season.
