
Norfolk Admirals Statement Regarding the Continuation of AHL Hockey in Norfolk

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals will continue to operate an active American Hockey League franchise in Norfolk, Virginia, during the 2007-08 American Hockey League season. The Admirals' AHL franchise is not for sale, and the team will not be relocating to another city next season.
The Admirals are in their third year of a three-year affiliation agreement with the Chicago Blackhawks and their seventh season of being the top developmental team of the Blackhawks overall.
Norfolk Admirals President and Managing Partner Ken Young has been in contact with Chicago Blackhawks management officials regarding an extension of the Admirals' affiliation agreement with the Blackhawks.
Mr. Young will address this topic on the Admirals Hour Talk Show tonight. "The Voice of the Admirals" Pete Michaud will also welcome Admirals' defenseman Brandon Rogers in the studio to take fans' calls. The Admirals Hour Talk Show will air tonight from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1310-AM, WRJR 1010-AM, WTJZ 1270-AM and WBVA 1450-AM.
The Admirals return to Scope on Friday and Saturday for a pair of contests against their East Division rivals, the Binghamton Senators. Friday is Military Appreciation Night with special $7 Red-Level tickets available to active duty military, retired personnel, and reservists with military ID. Tickets may be purchased at the Scope Box Office. On Saturday, the Admirals have a matinee matchup with the Senators at 2:30 p.m. Following the game, fans are invited to participate in a Post-Game Skate with the Admirals.
