Moose Sign Hunter to PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward J.J. Hunter to a professional tryout contract.

Hunter, 26, appeared in nine games with the Toronto Marlies where he collected one assist and eight penalty minutes. In his six-year pro carer, the Shaunavon, SK native has appeared in 210 American Hockey League games with Toronto, Hamilton, and Edmonton. In that time, he has scored 51 goals and 55 assists for 123 points and 277 penalty minutes. In 51 career Calder Cup playoff games, Hunter has 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points and 51 penalty minutes. In 140 career ECHL games with Columbus and Toledo, Hunter has 43 goals and 40 assists for 103 points and 145 penalty minutes.
