
P-Bruins Fall to Sound Tigers 4-1

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 Wednesday evening at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from David Ling. Providence returns to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Sport Bottle Night against the Charlotte Checkers.
The Sound Tigers took a 1-0 lead at the 4:59 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. Rob Hisey tallied his ninth goal of the season, with Jon Landry and Dustin Kohn recording the assists. Bridgeport led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Bridgeport made it 2-0 at the 1:46 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Eric Castonguay netted his fourth goal of the season, with Robin Figren and Hisey picking up the assists. The Sound Tigers went ahead 3-0 at the 8:52 mark. Jean Bourbeau scored his third goal of the season, while Mark Katic and Brandon Svendsen grabbed the assists. The P-Bruins got on the scoreboard at the 18:09 mark. Boris Valabik held the puck along the left boards and sent it behind the net for Maxime Sauve. He found Ling at the side of the net, who scored his sixth goal of the season. Bridgeport led 3-1 going into the second intermission.
The Sound Tigers finished off the scoring with a shorthanded empty net goal at the 18:37 mark of the third period. Hisey tallied his second goal of the game and tenth goal of the season, with Kohn getting the lone assist. Bridgeport went on to the 4-1 victory.
Nolan Schaefer stopped 25 of 28 shots for the P-Bruins, while Mikko Koskinen made 42 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-6 on the power play and 2-for-4 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins continue their three game road trip on Friday at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre against the Abbotsford Heat at 10:00 pm. And wrap up the road trip Saturday against the Heat at 10:00 p.m. The P-Bruins return to Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, March 4 for Sport Bottle Nightagainst the Checkers at 7:05 p.m. Information on P-Bruins tickets for the 2010-11 season can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at www.providencebruins.com.
