
Minnesota Wild Recalls RW Jed Ortmeyer and Nate Prosser

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled right wing Jed Ortmeyer and defenseman Nate Prosser from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ortmeyer, 32 (9/3/78), has notched eight points (2-6=8) and 17 penalty minutes (PIM) in 22 games with the Aeros this season, after compiling three points (2-1=3) and 17 PIM in 22 games with the San Antonio Rampage. Houston has posted a record of 15-5-2 since Ortmeyer joined the club. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Omaha, Neb., has skated in 306 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Nashville and San Jose, accumulating 51 points (21-30=51) and 145 PIM in six seasons. In 2009-10 with San Jose, Ortmeyer collected a career-high 19 points (8-11=19) in 76 regular season games while notching one assist in four playoff games. He was the Rangers' 2007 nominee to win the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for dedication to the game. Ortmeyer played collegiately at the University of Michigan and was signed as a free agent by the Wild on Jan. 5.
Prosser, 24 (5/7/86), has posted 19 points (6-13=19) and 27 penalty minutes (PIM) in 58 games with the Aeros this season. The Elk River, Minn., native played three games with Minnesota in the 2009-10 season after signing as a college free agent on March 18, 2010, totaling one assist and eight PIM. Prosser posted 28 points (4-24=28) in 39 games for Colorado College in 2009-10, his senior season. He ranked second in the WCHA in defensemen scoring. Prosser had totals of 64 points (12-52=64) in 137 games over four seasons with Colorado College. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound blueliner was a two-time all-conference selection at Elk River High School, where he participated in two state tournaments. Prosser wears No. 39 with Minnesota.
The Aeros begin a three-game weekend this Friday when they host the Texas Stars at 7:35 p.m. The team visits Oklahoma City on Saturday night before returning home Sunday at 5:05 p.m. vs. the Rockford IceHogs. Call 713-974-7825 (PUCK) for more information on Aeros tickets and other promotions.
