P-Bruins Fall to Sound Tigers 4-1

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 Saturday evening at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Tyler Redenbach. The P-Bruins are now 25-19-1-2 on the season, 53 points and in fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

The Sound Tigers scored the only goal of the opening period when on the power play Bruce Gervais took a shot from just inside the blueline. P-Bruins goaltender Jordan Sigalet was screened in front of the net as the puck got past him. Allan Rourke and Rob Collins had the assists on the goal as Bridgeport went into the first intermission leading 1-0.

The Sound Tigers added an even strength goal in the second period. At the 9:51 mark Robert Nilsson scored with Vince Macri and Evgeny Tunik getting the assists.

In the third period the P-Bruins pulled within a goal on an unassisted power play goal by Redenbach at the 3:08 mark. Forty seconds later the Sound Tigers retook a two goal advantage when Collins scored even strength with Jeff Hamilton and Steve Regier getting the assists. Bridgeport added an insurance goal at the 17:14 mark from Matt Koalska and went on to win by a 4-1 final.

Sigalet stopped 34 of 38 shots for the P-Bruins, while Garth Snow stopped 29 of 30 for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 1 for 5 on the power play, while Bridgeport was 2 for 11 on the man-advantage.

The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday, February 5 to face the Lowell Lock Monsters at a special 2:05 p.m. start time.
