Canucks Recall Tomas Mojzis

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled defenceman Tomas Mojzis.

This is the first recall of his professional career for Mojzis, 23. The native of Kolin, Czech Republic has appeared in 32 games so far this season with the Moose. He has scored four goals and nine assists for 13 points and 42 penalty minutes. Mojzis suffered a broken jaw in the fourth game of the season in Omaha (Oct. 12/05) and missed the next 16 games. In 175 career games with the Moose, Mojzis has scored 16 goals and 45 assists for 61 points and 154 penalty minutes. He has never played in an NHL game in his career.

Mojzis was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs with their eighth choice, 246th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canucks in a trade with the Maple Leafs in exchange for Brad Leeb on Sept. 4/02.
