SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 4, 2006) - The San Antonio Rampage today announced that the Phoenix Coyotes, the Rampage's parent club, have recalled right wing Pavel Brendl from the American Hockey League team.

This is his first recall to the Coyotes and has not played in any NHL games this season. Last week, Brendl was named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week (for the period ending Jan. 29) after having a hand in seven (3 goals, 4 assists) of the Rampage's nine goals in the three-game week.

The New York Rangers' fourth overall pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Brendl has recorded 13 goals and 14 assists in 38 games between San Antonio and Lowell this season, including 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) in 13 games since joining the Rampage on Dec. 28, 2005. He currently ranks 1st on the Rampage in goals and shots (148); tied for 1st in power-play goals (6); 2nd in points; and 3rd in assists.

A 24-year-old native of Opocno, Czech Republic, Brendl has registered 45 goals and 52 assists in 135 career AHL games, and is also a veteran of 76 NHL contests with Carolina and Philadelphia. He made his pro debut in 2000 during Hartford's run to the Calder Cup championship.

The 6-foot-1, 204-pound forward was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on Dec. 28, 2005 in exchange for Krystofer Kolanos.

The Rampage play the Toronto Marlies tonight at the Ricoh Coliseum at 6 p.m. CT with their second game of a 10-game, 21-day and 5,971-mile road trip that began yesterday in Rochester, N.Y. as the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo visits the AT&T Center. All games can be viewed through B2 Networks' live video web cast for $6 to anyone with a high-speed internet connection, through a link at www.sarampage.com.
