Winchester Scores Winner for Bulldogs

Manchester, NH -Bulldogs forward Brad Winchester scored 2:08 into overtime to give Hamilton a 2-1 victory over the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday night at Verizon Wireless Arena. The win improves the Bulldogs record to 19-30-0-2.

Duncan Milroy scored a shorthanded goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at 18:06 of the first period.Milroy skated down the left wing and fired a snap shot from the face off circle over the shoulder of Monarchs goaltender Barry Brust.Danny Syvret, with his first point in nine games, and J.J. Hunter, with his first point as a Bulldog, earned the assists.The goal was Milroy's second in as many games.

The Monarchs tied the game at the 12:57 mark of the second period when Connor James fired a shot from the slot past Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis.

Hamilton outshot Manchester 6-2 in a scoreless third period.

Brad Winchester scored the game-winning goal 2:08 into overtime when he broke in and slide a backhand shot past Brust.It was the 13th of the season for Winchester, who was named the game's first star.

Danis blocked 16 of the 17 shots he faced, while Brust made 29 saves and was named the game's third star.

Hamilton was 0 for 6 on the power play while Manchester went 0 for 4.

Hamilton's next game will take place on Saturday, February 11th when they host the Manchester Monarchs in the 10th Annual 'TD Canada Trust Smiles on Ice Game' in support of McMaster Children's Hospital.
