
P-Bruins fall to Hartford in overtime

The Providence Bruins returned to action on home ice on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, falling in overtime to the Hartford Wolf Pack, 2-1. The Black and Gold remains in second place in the Atlantic Division with its 22-15-10-2 record (56 points). The Bruins are four points behind the division-leading Wolf Pack.
Providence goaltender Tim Thomas was outstanding, stopping 41 of the 43 shots he faced on the night. He has now allowed two or fewer goals in nine straight starts, including one shutout. Thomas is 12-8-5 on the season.
Bruin winger Ivan Huml scored a power play goal in the first period, his team-leading seventh on the man-advantage. It was his 12th goal overall, tying him with current Boston Bruin Carl Corazzini for the team lead. Rich Brennan and Darren VanOene assisted on the goal.
The Black and Gold visits the Portland Pirates on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m., in their last game before the All-Star Break. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550. The Bruins return home to host the Worcester IceCats on Friday, February 13 at 7:05 p.m. The game will be televised live on COX 3.
